‘Shoe’ us how it’s done, Rasheed: PFW’s Bello delivers top viral moment of young hoops season

Let’s be clear about this, the real stories of the 2023–24 Purdue Fort Wayne men’s and women’s basketball campaigns, so far, are the great records the teams have heading into the university’s winter break. For the first time in 34 seasons, the men sit at 10–1 overall, and they’re 2–0 in the Horizon League. The women are 7–3 overall, and also 2–0 at the start of their HL slate.

Those results alone should be enough to get even the most casual fan to consider heading over to Memorial Coliseum and Gates Sports Center to catch some of the action. Find ticket information by clicking here.

Now that the totally warranted sales pitch is out of the way, did you happen to catch what junior guard Rasheed Bellow did during the Dons’ 70–57 victory over Southern Indiana on Dec. 6? If not, millions of people from sea to shining sea did thanks to more than 50 broadcast news segments explaining what was probably the most talked about moment of the first month of the NCAA regular season.

Enjoy via the links below how nine different newsrooms across the country described this memorable—and currently legal—play.
