Certification and Verification

Official proof of your status or degree.

An enrollment certification is an official document that provides proof of your enrollment status for the purpose of loan deferments, scholarship applications, medical or car insurance, and more. As a student, you may obtain your enrollment certification through goPFW or via the National Student Clearinghouse Myhub portal. You will be required to create an account. If you are a former student (not currently registered), you can sign up with a Google or Linkedin account.

Find instructions for obtaining your enrollment verification certificate here. You can print your enrollment verification certificate from the National Student Clearinghouse Myhub portal and mail it to an insurer or other company that requests proof of your enrollment.

Current students may also request verification in person (though online is strongly encouraged). Enrollment verification certificate requests can be made in person at the enrollment services desk located near the main entrance of Kettler Hall. Please ask for a Purdue University Request for Certification of Enrollment Form. Fill out the entire form completely. Provide all required signatures. Attach any third-party forms to the request form and place all in the black metal registrar’s drop box located at the enrollment services desk. Your request will be manually processed.

In-person requests for enrollment certifications must include a signed and dated Purdue University Request for Certification of Enrollment Form.

Third-party forms submitted without a signed and dated Purdue University Request for Certification of Enrollment Form will not be processed.

Third-party requesters can go directly to the National Student Clearinghouse Degree Verification Services site. If additional third-party forms are required, they may be uploaded following instructions on the Online Enrollment Certification Request Form.

Please be aware of the following information:

  • Enrollment verification certificates for future enrollment are not available. For current students, enrollments certifications will be available 10 business days after the official start date for the term.
  • Enrollment verification certificate requests received by email or telephone will not be processed.

Degree verification provides official confirmation of your degree, major, date of graduation, and where you earned your degree. Students may obtain their degree verification by email or in person. Agencies or employers requesting verification of your degree or enrollment should request this information directly through National Student Clearinghouse Degree Verification Services.

Degrees are generally posted to transcripts within 30 days of the close of the semester of graduation. If you request your transcript before the 30-day window, your transcript may not display your final cleared and awarded degree.

If a degree verification is needed prior to degrees posting, the following options are available for you to obtain verification:

  • Request a proof-of-graduation letter by sending a message to [email protected]. Include the address of the employer or organization where you would like the letter sent. The request email must come from your PFW email account.
  • Complete a request in person at the enrollment services center desk in Kettler Hall. Ask for the Request for Certification of Enrollment Form and choose the option for proof of graduation/expected graduation date. Fill out the entire form completely, with all the required signatures. Attach any third-party forms to the request form and place all in the black metal registrar’s drop box located at the enrollment services desk. Your request will be manually processed.

Once the posting of your degree has occurred, you may provide verification of your degree by obtaining a transcript. Transcripts can be ordered online from the main campuses of Purdue University. Learn more about transcripts here.
