The Assurance Review and associated evidence file provide Purdue Fort Wayne’s written argument for accreditation. It demonstrates how we meet the Criteria for Accreditation and aids us in understanding and initiating action for areas we and the peer-review team identify as areas for improvement. The ten-year accreditation cycle supports a continuous institutional improvement process that requires regular monitoring through the annual Institutional Update, continues with an assurance review in Year 4 of the cycle. Institutions engage in a quality initiative in years 5-9 leading to a Comprehensive Evaluation in Year 10. For a detailed description of the process, please review HLC’s Open Pathway Overview.
This site is designed to provide internal and external constituents access to a working draft of the 2020 Assurance Review, the 2010 Assurance Review, the quality initiative, and the 2017 Change in Control, Structure, or Organization application and approval. Below is a summary of HLC activity since the 2010 visit and the timeline for our upcoming visit.
HLC Accreditation Activity since the 2010 Visit
In 2017, The Higher Learning Commission approved the realignment of Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne to Purdue University Fort Wayne and continuing accreditation on the Open Pathway as a change in organization and name change under the Commission’s policy through the Change of Control, Structure, or Organization process. Documentation for the change in organization is available for review here.
The institution addressed all Team Consultation items from the 2010 Comprehensive Review Advancement Section in the documentation for Section C of the Change of Control, Structure, or Organization application. The review team found the advancement section items required no further action. The 2010 Self Study, supporting documents, and visiting team reports are available here.
Purdue Fort Wayne participated in HLC’s Assessment Academy beginning in the 2015 Spring Semester to fulfil HLC’s Quality Initiative requirement. The Quality Initiative panel review process confirmed the institution’s effort as demonstrated in the Panel Review and Recommendation. The details of the academy project, feedback received on the project, and the final report are available here.
