“All Hands” Planning Meeting: January 11, 2019
- 250+ faculty, staff, and students create strategy maps that include primary and secondary activities
- Develop four to seven high-level goals
- Strategy maps also inform the creation of objectives and initiatives
Strategic Plan Development: January–May 2019
- Leadership Team, with the assistance of a writer from Communications and Marketing, will draft the high-level strategic plan based on the results of the January 11 Planning Meeting and supported by the Discovery Report
- High-level strategic plan draft will go to the Steering Committee for input and feedback
- High-level strategic plan draft will be shared with
campus for substantive input and feedback Precise language of the high-level strategic plan draft will be refined throughout the planning process
- Teams will be formed to recommend objectives and initiatives to support the high-level strategy, with each team focused on a single plan goal
- Teams will be composed of faculty, staff, and students, as appropriate, with expertise relevant to the plan goal
- Objectives and initiatives will be drawn from the results of the January 11 Planning Meeting, the Discovery Report, an aspirational peer benchmarking activity, and team recommendations
- Objectives and initiatives will be reviewed by the Steering Committee and Leadership Team; language proposed by the teams will be refined by the writer
