Candidates who are majoring in Business or Tourism and Hospitality Management will also compete for the Doermer Distinguished Scholarship. If a candidate is selected for the Chapman Scholarship AND the Doermer Distinguished Scholarship, the candidate will only be able to accept one scholarship.

Come prepared to complete an interview. Overall, come prepared to simply be yourself. We want to get to know you as you get to know Purdue University Fort Wayne and the Chapman Scholars Program.

Following an informational program with parents/guardians and students, students will participate in an interview. Students along with their parents/guardians will also have the opportunity to meet with a representative from their major of interest. There will also be a virtual Information Fair highlighting the various opportunities available at Purdue Fort Wayne.

The only thing we ask is for you to be in a room by yourself during the interview portion of the even with your camera on.

PFW faculty and staff score each student’s application, essays, and interview. Six students are chosen for the Chapman Scholarship and one student is selected for the Doermer Distinguished Scholarship. Students are typically notified within one month after the competition.

Students must notify PFW if they plan to attend PFW and accept the award or if they decline the award by the deadline provided with the offer. No response from a recipient is considered as a rejection of the offer. In the event an offer is declined, the candidate with the next highest overall score will be contacted.
