2014 Annual Sigma Xi Banquet

The Sigma Xi awards for students and faculty will be presented at the annual dinner.

Date: Monday, April 28.  Dinner starting at 6:00, followed by awards and presentation

Location: The Lucky Moose, 622 E Dupont Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825

No reservation required, the "Coconut Club" room in the back is reserved for our event and you may order from the menu.

2014 Student Awards

Congratulations to winners of our Sigma Xi Student Research Awards! These awards were announced at the 2014 IPFW Student Research Symposium March 28, based on scores from student research poster presentations.  Thank you to all our volunteer judges from science and engineering departments!

2014 Faculty Awards

Congratulations to winners of the 2014 Sigma Xi faculty awards!  This year there were a large number of applications and two research awards were given.

  • Researcher of the Year: Jin Soung Yoo, Computer Science
  • Researcher of the Year: Zhuming Bi, Engineering
  • College Science Teacher of the Year: Don Mueller, Engineering

The due date for applications for the 2014 IPFW Sigma Xi Researcher of the Year and Teacher of the Year awards was Monday, March 31, 2014.

2014 Student Research Symposium and Sigma Xi Science Research competition

  • This year, students entering science and engineering posters in the Symposium will be automatically considered for an award from Sigma Xi.  Students and advisors do not need to apply separately for consideration by Sigma Xi.  Awards will be based on data submitted by Symposium judges.

T. Goodson, University of Michigan Department of Chemistry

New Approaches to Energy Harvesting and Storage

  • Friday, October 18, 3:15 pm.
  • IPFW Walb 126 (Walb Classic Ballroom).

Dr. Goodson will talk about his research on organic materials used for energy storage and transfer in optical and electronic applications and solar power systems.
