Mental Health and Employee Assistance Program
Policy
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides voluntary, confidential, and professional assistance to help employees and their families resolve problems that affect their personal lives or performance at work. Services include problem evaluation and assessment, individual counseling, and referral to community services.
Audience
All employees.
Types of SItuations
Direct and self-referrals for students, faculty, and staff under duress, stress, or dealing with life events that need to be addressed, such as family trauma, divorce, job and class stress, and mental health challenges.
Timeline
No timeline, 24/7.
How it works
Counselors are available to support benefit-eligible Purdue Fort Wayne employees and their legal dependents. Individuals receive three free sessions per issue, through face-to-face counseling with a local mental health professional
