What you need to know.

We provide testing services for institutions outside of Purdue Fort Wayne. Find out the cost, guidelines, and more.

Distance-Education / External College Testing

(Exams from universities or colleges outside of Purdue Fort Wayne)

Purdue Fort Wayne Testing Services provides proctoring for distance-education exams from other colleges and universities. 

There is a $40 fee per exam, payable online before the appointment.
All payments must be made online; Testing Services cannot accept payments in the office.

How the Process Works

 

Step 1: Faculty/Institution Submits Exam Request

Faculty from the student’s home institution must submit the Distance-Education Exam Request Form:

Step 2: Faculty Sends Exam Materials (If Applicable)

Paper-Based Exams

  • If the exam is paper-based, the faculty/institution must mail the exam to Testing Services and include a postage-paid return envelope.

 

Step 3: Testing Services Contacts the Student

Once all materials are received and approved, Testing Services will contact the student directly via provided email to:

  • Schedule the exam
  • Provide pre-exam instructions
  • Provide the online payment link

 

Step 4: Student Pays the Testing Fee

The $40 fee must be paid online before the appointment.

 

Step 5: Arrive for Testing

Students should:

  • Arrive 15 minutes early
  • Bring a valid photo ID
  • Bring only permitted materials
  • Ensure laptops (if used) have required software installed

 

 

  • Testing Services can administer correspondence exams only for university and college institutions.
  • A photo ID is required in order to take all tests.
  • Cell phones are not allowed at the testing stations. Please make the appropriate arrangements for storing your phone.
  • You should arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment. If you arrive late, you will be asked to reschedule.
  • Testing-room temperatures may vary; it’s advisable to bring a sweater or jacket.
  • Children are not allowed in the testing facilities; please make childcare arrangements before your exam.
  • If you require test accommodations based on a disability, contact the director of testing services at least seven business days before your scheduled test date; disability documentation may be required.
  • Testing Services is unable to give placement or entrance exams for students who attend universities other than Purdue Fort Wayne.
