National Exams
What you need to know.
Purdue Fort Wayne is a national testing site for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Testing Services offers all CLEP examinations; however, not all exams may be accepted as credit at Purdue Fort Wayne. You should check with the appropriate institution to be sure that CLEP credit is accepted. You should also be aware of the following information:
- All tests are timed.
- You should allow approximately 90 minutes per exam.
- You may take a maximum of two exams per test date.
- All exams begin at 10 a.m.
- You must have a photo ID in order to take the test.
Visit CollegeBoard to create and manage your personal account. Registering for an exam through the CLEP registration portal will provide you with a payment receipt and a ticket ID. Please contact Testing Services at [email protected] or 260-481-6600 to schedule your exam.
Fee and Payment
The fee for each examination is $87, made payable to the College Level Examination Program, plus a separate service fee of $20 per examination, made payable to Purdue Fort Wayne. If an optional essay is required by the reporting institution, there will be a $10 additional charge per essay, made payable to Purdue Fort Wayne. CLEP will not accept cash. The essay will be scored by the institution requiring the essay portion.
If you are going to pay the separate-exam service fee and optional essay fee with a credit card, you will need to pay online. You may mail a check or money order by the registration deadline. We cannot accept credit card or cash payments in the office.
